Danielle writes:
2013 was to be the year that Danielle and Tim finally spent their Christmas holiday together.
The weather gods had a different idea, and Michigan was struck with a massive ice storm the weekend before the holiday. Tim heroically returned to Michigan to tend to their power-less house, urging Danielle to stay in New York with her family to spend Christmas in a home with heat, TV, internet, food that wasn’t melted, etc. (#firstworldproblems).
Danielle returned to Michigan on Friday to a home with power and heat, reuniting their family of three. They went to a fancy dinner and watched a terrible movie they rented from Red Box. The next day, they hung out and did their usual lazy Saturday routine of procrastinating cleaning and laying around. In the afternoon, they took Eddie on a family walk around the slushy neighborhood. Upon returning from the walk, Danielle hopped in the shower to get ready for plans she had that evening.
While clad in a towel and deep in thought about that evening’s attire, Tim came into the bedroom, sticking a ring in her face. (A very beautiful, sparkly ring!) Confused, Danielle looked at it.
Tim, a verbiose fellow who always has a way with words, said, “Well, what do you think it is?”, and Danielle (equally eloquent) replied, “Really?? Really!! Really!?” in several different intonations. Once she covered each emotion (surprise, shock, disbelief, euphoria), she said, “Ok, now ask me for real!”
And he did.
And she said yes. 🙂
